The museum purchases books for the genealogy library and occasionally ends up with duplicates when we have to buy several books to obtain a special volume we need.

 Beautiful Gold Ornaments

      

        Etched                                                                                 Sun Catcher

 

This ornament features the “Union School” a magnificent building that was built in 1876 on the corner of Main and Muskegon St. The school was torn down in 1925 and replaced with the current school known as Hilltop.

Two styles of ornaments are available, a detailed 3-D etched ornament and the same ornament with a sun catcher back in light blue stained glass. 

This beautiful ornament is the first in a series.  The museum planes to feature other historic buildings in future ornaments.

The Legends And Story of the Michigan Indian

Published in 1993...This book contains a history of the Michigan Indian written by John Coady and 30 legends given to him by a Native American family in 1940. Mr. Coady grew up on a farm near a Native American settlement.  His love for their history grew from the relationship he shared with these neighbors. Mr. Coady was a respected speaker on Native American history for many years.

 Many pioneering families are featured and the businesses they built along our Main Street.  You'll find hundreds of pictures and an abundance of interesting history.   The book is hard cover,8 1/2" X 11"  and 243 pages. The 1200 names  found in this book make it  a great genealogical resource.
